Ideas that may be used/explored in Perception

• A frog sees a fly as food only when the fly moves. I remember seeing a program on this - likely on Discovery or TLC - several years ago. They had footage demonstrating this. I couldn't find this, but did find another article on this subject.
• How do you see the colour red? Exploration on the topic of physical make-up and how that may influence or alter how we physically perceive our environment. Such make-up items influence - or dictate? - the context in which we create, perceive, and subsequently interact with our environment.

• Our perception is that time goes by faster as we get older. Why?
  • Do we look forward to things less?
  • Do we know more, do more, so aren't as aware of time's passage?
  • Is it somehow linked to the percentage of life you've been alive? I.e. When you're 10, a year is 10% of your life; when you're 50, it's only 2% (literally, a day goes by 5 times as fast)?
• Why is my perception of myself different than my perception of others. Additionally(?), why do I perceive my condition differently than the condition of others?
• I watch CMT occasionally. They've been running a trailer for re-runs of Home Improvement starring Tim Allen. In it, he proclaims: "I think, therefore I am." I think [sic] this should be extended into "I think, therefore I am, you are, it is." There is tons of jumping-off material in "Cogito ergo sum".
• The language we use to say and think things defines directions we take on those things. Certainly the language used by others shapes how we view things. This is readily apparent in politics today. The negative - or smear - campaigns used routinely indicate that situations are "them or us", rather than putting in any effort to mutually advance our communal condition. I can't think of an example in Canadian history (anyone?), but Lincoln surrounded himself with his "enemies" when he got elected. Where is that type of visionary leadership?... outside of Barack Obama, that is? How well do you think a "negative" campaign would work while conducting a job search?
