"What other people think of me is none of my business."

I have a love-hate relationship with the above quote. Mostly because my life appears to revolve nearly entirely around what others think. Taking the above to heart is one of my biggest challenges.

In contrast - though perhaps as compensation for - I also have issues with the opposite. Recently, I very nearly destroyed a relationship with someone who is very important to me... by making my assumptions about them important to them. WTF!?! Anyway, I thought of that quote's corollary:

"What I think of other people is none of their business."

I just have to live it.
